Abstract:In this paper, an optimized rotating vector moving average (MRVA) method is proposed to suppress interference fading in phase-sensitive optical time-domain reflectometry (Φ-OTDR) system. The proposed optimization method is developed from two aspects. Firstly, the weighted window is used to replace the rectangular window in the MRVA method, which mitigates the tradeoff between measurement accuracy and spatial resolution. Then, the time domain moving average is converted to frequency-domain computation according to the mathematical equivalence of moving average and low-pass filtering, thus achieving faster processing speed. Experimental results show that, compared with MRVA method, the demodulation phase accuracy of this method is improved by about 23%, and the calculation time is reduced from 0.957 s to 0.026 s, achieving about 36-times improvement.
