    Abstract:

S-nitroso-N-acetyl-DL-penicillamine (SNAP), a nitric oxide donor, has a significant inhibitory effect on the growth of microorganisms. In order to further verify the antibacterial effect of SNAP on microorganisms, SNAP solids were first prepared through nitrification in this paper, and their antibacterial properties were verified based on different SNAP concentrations. The results showed that: (1) SNAP has been successfully prepared by 1H NMR and UV characterization; (2) SNAP has obvious inhibitory effects on Escherichia coli, Staphylococcus aureus (resistant/non-resistant) and Neisseria gonorrhoeae, and the inhibitory effect is concentration-dependent. The results indicates that SNAP has broad-spectrum antibacterial properties. With excellent antibacterial properties SNAP and nitric oxide donors have broad application prospects in the antibacterial field.
